[Class 20 (iv)] A wall comprises a number of pre-cast or cast in situ concrete uprights, each having longitudinal flanges spaced apart across the width of the wall and between which are assembled super-imposed pre-cast blocks having recesses in their end faces, which register with the space between the flanges on the uprights, to form a substantially closed throughway, the opposing walls of either or both the uprights and blocks having projections which form a key for grouting, which is poured between the blocks and uprights to lock them together. In the form shown, grooved foundation blocks 24 are spaced at intervals on the main foundation 29 and support pre-cast, I-section, concrete pillars 10. Projections 12 protrude from the web portion of the pillars. Precast concrete blocks 15 are laid dry between adjacent pillars, engaging each other by tongues 25 and grooves 26 formed on their horizontal edges. Grooves 16 are formed on the end faces of the blocks, a curved portion 20 registering with the recess 11 on the adjoining pillar, whilst the faces 17 of adjoining blocks nearly touch on the outer side of the pillars, and parts 18 are spaced apart, having the inner side of the pillars exposed and flush with the inner faces of the blocks. Grouting is poured between the uprights and blocks, interlocking the latter with the projections 12 on the uprights. The upper ends of the uprights are tied by rebated and overlapping lintel blocks 33 which are engaged by a pin 35 extending from the top of each upright and passing through the lintels at the point of overlap. Floors are supported by angles 40 attached to the uprights.
