Abstract

<PICT:0635162/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0635162/IV (c)/2> Hat hoods and similar flexible, conical bodies are held for drying or other treatment by being inserted, crown downwards, into frames each consisting of an undulated top wire d1 and wire ribs e. The frame is tapered down-wardly and is of less diameter than the hood, so that the latter takes the shape of and is held frictionally by the frame. The frames may be secured by plates a1, a2 to cross-bars a extending between the chains of a conveyer, which may be associated with a drying chamber such as is described in Specification 530,195, [Group XIII]. Rows of frames may be arranged in staggered relation on successive pairs of bars with the undulations of the frames substantially intermeshing.
