634,378. Radio receiving apparatus. COLE, Ltd., E. K., MARTIN, A. W., and HUNT, H. Nov. 28, 1946, No. 35265. [Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi)] A time-switch controlled receiver comprises means which operates an alarm when the receiver is switched on, the alarm ceasing when the valves have warmed up and a carrier wave is being received. An I.F. valve a has A.G.C. applied to its control grid and has a relay d in its cathode circuit. In the absence of a signal, for example during the warming-up period, the A.G.C. voltage is low and the relay operates. Contact e completes the circuit of a buzzer f which may be switched off by a manually-operated switch h. Specification 634,377 is referred to.
