Abstract

634,221. Boxes. VICKERSARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and FULLER, M. E. May 20, 1947, No. 13567. [Class 18] A covered box with lace or other ornamental flier is formed by uniting the marginal parts of a covering strip 1 and a folded ornamental strip 4, applying the composite strip to the box or box blank 8 folding the double thickness part on to the inside of the box so that the ornamental edging projects inwardly as shown in Fig. 8. The strip 4 is initially folded as shown in Fig. 3 and its plain marginal flap 3 is then glued simultaneously with the covering strip 1 by a glueing roller 6, after which the flap 3 is superimposed on the strip 1 with their outer edge in alignment. The remote marginal portion of the covering strip may be folded under the base of the box.
