[Class 146 (ii)] A device for reading a map for use in a car or aeroplane comprises a strip route map 3 printed on transparent or translucent material, carried by rollers 2, 2a in a case 1 with a window 4 and illuminated by a lamp 5, a transparent glass screen 6 being adjustably mounted so that the driver or pilot may see through it and at the same time see the reflection of the map on it. The rollers may be operated manually or by a clockwork mechanism so that the map is automatically moved to correspond with the speed of the car or plane.
