632,949. Deformity appliances. AUSTLID, O. Feb. 5, 1947, No. 3397. Convention date, July 28, 1945. [Class 81(ii)] A device for correcting spinal deformity caused by forward movement of the sacral bone and divergence of the iliac bones, consists of a bodyencircling member provided at the sides with rigid, curved pads which engage the hip bones and press them inwardly when the device is worn around the lower part of the hips. The member may be a belt 6, Fig. 3, provided with shaped pads 7 and a tightening device 8. In Fig. 4, the pads are pivoted to a resilient half hoop 10 the curvature of which can be varied by a rod 16 and nut 14.
