Abstract
631,542. Electric railways. WHITEHORN, H. K. Sept. 22, 1947, No. 25681. [Class 104 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A spherical car which is propelled along rails or within a tube by electromagnetic induction, as described in Specification 364,230, [Group XXXII], is adapted to maintain the interior cabin upright by mounting the two or more concentric spheres comprising the car upon gimbals, the gimbals of the respective spheres being spaced relatively at angles of either 90 or 120 degrees. In the example the spherical cabin A is mounted on gimbals 1 within a concentric sphere C which, in turn, is mounted on gimbals 2 within a further sphere C<SP>1</SP> carried on gimbals 3 within an outer sphere B. Gyroscopes are located within the lower portion a of the cabin, as described in the prior Specification. Specification 560,896 also is referred to.
