Abstract
629,267. Radio testing apparatus. MURPHY RADIO, Ltd., and BISSMIRE, H. G. T. Aug. 12, 1946, No. 23856. [Class 40 (v)] In radio testing apparatus, comprising an attenuator connected between a signal generator and an indicating instrument, a step-by-step switching device is provided for varying the attenuation in steps, the device being operated automatically when the current in the indicator circuit reaches a predetermined level. The arrangement facilitates adjustments which are necessary when trimming a receiver. In the Figure, the output from signal generator SG is applied through attenuator A to receiver R, the receiver output being measured in an indicating device OMI. A control circuit CC operates when the receiver output current reaches a predetermined level, to excite an electromagnetic rotary switch SM which varies the amount of attenuation in steps introduced in A. An indicator A1 may be provided to indicate the amount of attenuation involved at any given time.
