627,510. Lifting rods in textile spinning and twisting machines; thread guides. DOMINION TEXTILE CO., Ltd. Sept. 17, 1946, No. 27875. Convention date, May 7. [Class 120 (ii)] In order to prevent the accumulation of lint or waste on lifting rods or pokers and the bushings in which they slide in spinning and twisting machines, either the rods or the bushings, or both, are recessed or formed with " flats." In Figs. 2 and 3, a ring rail lifting rod 25 is shown as sliding in bushes 20 and formed with " flats " 26. Instead of " flats," semi-circular channels may be employed, Fig. 6, or the bushings may be recessed, Fig. 4. Fig. 5 shows both a rod and bushing recessed. The bushings may be formed with helical grooves on their inner surfaces filled with a graphite composition for lubrication. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also thread boards supported by lifting rods having feet at their lower ends for contact by an arm adjustably mounted on a lever effecting movement of a ring rail, so that each thread board is traversed in correspondence with a ring rail. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
