Abstract

627,237. Cable-stripping tools. CHRISTIANSEN, R., and PETERSEN, A. L. Nov. 4, 1946, No. 32659. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 4, 1946.] [Class 36] A tool for stripping electric cables comprises two interspaced cutters 11, 12 which are mounted on a common shaft 10 and are adjustable with respect to a ratchet device 16 mounted in the same frame, so that the insulation on a cable placed between the cutters and the ratchet device can be cut. The cable is placed on the ratchet-wheel 16 and the cutters 11, 12 are moved downwards to engage the cable. The ratchet device is actuated by the movement of the handle 15 causing the tool to move along the cable, thus cutting a narrow strip from the cable covering, and enabling the remainder of the covering to be peeled off.
