Abstract

626,496. Electrical warp stop-motion for looms. TRIGGS, W. W. (Crompton & Knowles Loom Works). Oct. 1, 1946, No. 29201. Drawings to Specification. [Class 142 (i)] Drop wires form part of a low voltage circuit which minimises the risk of fire if there is an accumulation of lint on the contact bar. When a warp thread breaks a drop wire falls and causes the discharge of a condenser which normally is charged.' A current then flows through an electronic tube, operating a relay. The relay lights a warning lamp and lifts a pivoted link thereby completing a knock-off mechanism operated by a cam on the bottom shaft. This mechanism moves the shipper handle to stop the loom and also operates a switch which breaks the circuit operating the pivoted link.
