[Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXV] An altitude compensated a,ir-speed indicating and/or control system for aircraft comprises an indicator 149 operated, for example, by a Pitot tube and means, such as a co-operating scale 147 which is moved in relation to the indicator in accordance with altitude of the craft (which may be varying at a desired rate during diving or climbing), to correct the indication. A Selsyn element 139 receives the output of a generator element coupled to a housing having two ports co-operating with an altitude controlled cut-off member to deliver normally balanced fluid pressure to an altitude controlling motor as described on Specification 626,285, [Group XXIX]. The position of this housing and of the scale 147 driven from the element 139 through a differential 143 and shaft 144 corresponds with the changing altitude.
