Abstract

625,362. Drills. GULLICK, Ltd., and SEAMAN, T. July 4, 1947, No. 17629. [Class 83 (iii)] A drill comprises at least two separate cutting tips or parts 13, 14, and one or more removable spacing- pieces 18 adapted for insertion between them, the cutting diameter of the drill being determined by the thickness or absence of the spacing-piece or pieces. The cutting tips 13, 14 and spacing pieces are held by a pin 17 in an elongated socket 16 in the drill-head 10. Depending upon the cutting diameter desired, the tips are used with a thick or thinner spacing piece or one or more additional spacing pieces, and for larger diameters a drill-head of larger diameter may be, used ; spacers could, when required, also be fitted outside the shanks of the drill bit. Cutting edges 20 are provided on the spacers 18. Specifications 592,086 and 592,087 are referred to.
