Abstract

625,303. Hand-tool handles. MORPHYRICHARDS, Ltd., and MORPHY, D. W. Feb. 3, 1947, No. 3201. [Class 61(i)] The handle A of a carpet sweeper or suction cleaner has the lower part c rearwardly curved so that in normal position of use the forward end of the handle is parallel or slightly inclined to the floor level enabling it to pass under low furniture. The upper part b of the handle is curved reversely which curvature is continued backwards so that the grip part e curves downwards. The part c is united at B<SP>1</SP> to the yoke B between the terminal bosses B<SP>2</SP> of which may extend a tubular pivot pin, and the electric leads D supplying the motor may enter the handle at the switch C passing down through the hollow handle, yoke and pivot pin and out at D<SP>2</SP> through an insulating bush in the pivot pin.
