Abstract
622,601. Band saws. FOYSTER, J. R. April 1, 1947, No. 8750. [Class 145(ii)] In a timber-cutting band saw, the leading face A of each tooth makes 67¢ degrees with the path of the cutting edge, (i.e. angle a equals 67¢ degrees), whilst the top B of each tooth makes 7¢ degrees with the said path, (i.e. angle b equals 7¢ degrees). The teeth may be normally set or swage set by as little as one-fiftieth of an inch, whilst the gullets D between the teeth are preferably circular arcs of diameter approximately one-fifth of the pitch of the teeth, the centres of said arcs being on lines at right angles to the leading faces A and spaced from the cutting edges by a distance d which is onetenth to one-eighth of the said pitch. The lengths c of the tops of the teeth are preferably one quarter to two-fifths of the said pitch. Specification 590,282 is referred to.
