Abstract

622,279. Air cleaners. HOUDAILLEHERSHEF CORPORATION. Nov. 21, 1945, No. 31374. Convention date, June 11. [Class 8(ii)] An air cleaner filter unit 14 comprises crimped vegetable or mineral fibre 22 extending lengthwise of the unit and bonded together at points of contact at intervals along their lengths. The units are prepared by fireproofing bundled sisal fibres, impregnating with thermoplastic or thermosetting resin and baking as described in Specification 622,281. An oil bath filter in which such units 14 may be disposed comprises an upper casing 1 having louvred air inlets 11 and an inclined outlet duct 20, and a lower unit supporting casing 2 with a detachable oil bath 18. In a modification, the lower casing holds two superposed units 14.
