[Class 44] [Also in Group XI] A sheet metal mounting (see Group XI) for an incandescent mantle has a frusto-conical upper portion 6 provided with slots 15 which engage with pins 14 projecting inwardly from the inner surface of a burner head 1. Each slot has an inclined portion 17 which serves to raise the mantle mounting and an axial portion 16 which is closed at its upper end. The tapered formation of the portion 6 permits the entry of the pins 14 into the axial portion 16. In a modification (Fig. 7) the bayonet slots are replaced by vertical grooves 35 leading down from the upper edge of the frusto-conical portion 32 of the mantle mounting and continuing through the portion 32 to provide slots having inwardly extending spring tongues 36 made from the material displaced to form the slots. These spring tongues 36 press against the upper edges of the inner ends of pins 14 projecting from the burner head 1.
