Abstract
620,398. Machines for moulding concrete building-slabs. AUGER, A. A. Jan. 4, 1946, No. 412. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1945. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A machine is provided for moulding the slab shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the slab comprising a plate-like part 1 having tongue-and-groove ends 2, 3 and a projecting rib 4. The rib stops short of the ends 100 of the slab. The machine moulds the slab upside down and comprises a series of rollers 55 to which are brought successively platens each comprising a base 57 having longitudinal runners 58 on its lower side. The platelike portion 1 of the slab is formed by the platen and by a mould frame composed of the ends 59, 60 and an auxiliary frame having long sides 63, 64 and ends 65, 66 connected to the ends 59, 60 by blade springs 69. The length of the auxiliary frame may be adjusted by pin-andslot means. The sides 63, 64 mould the tongue-andgrooved formations. The rib 4 is formed by two co-operating mould parts 85, 86, which are formed at their top as a funnel or hopper into which the concrete is poured. A vibrator 90 is supported on the part 85. The parts 85, 86 are carried by links 84 from arched members 70 pivoted at one end 78 on the machine frame. At the other end the members are en aged by a and crank car arrangement 76, 74, which can be operated to force the mould parts 85, 86 down to shape the concrete. The pivots 78 also are depressed by means of handies 79. Reinforcements 62, 67 are accommodated in notches 61 in the end members.
