[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group V] A gear wheel made of thermoplastic material such as " Perspex " (Registered Trade Mark), and having face teeth in the form of a plurality of concentric rings c is made by hot-pressing the material between die-plates, the material flowing into countersunk holes h in a reinforcing plate a which is disposed in the mould and forms part of the finished gear wheel. The plate a has secured thereto a bush f, and may be of metal. As shown, the concentric rings of teeth are on one face only, the other face having a single row of teeth d. The material may be in sheet or powder form.
