618,446. Wave guides. SAXON, G., MILLING, M. C. CROWLEY-, and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. May 21, 1946, No. 15369. [Class 40 (v)] Two sections 1, 2 of a wave-guide are flexibly connected by a cavity recessed outwardly around the guide, comprising two flexible metallic side walls 3, 5 and a peripheral metal wall 7 parallel to the wave-guide axis, the cavity having such a depth (e.g. a half-wavelength) that no reflections are produced. Several adjacent sections may be similarly connected, the cavities being spaced at quarter wavelength intervals. Specification 586,458 is referred to.
