Abstract
617,983. Wringers. BERGER, M. M. June 25, 1946, No. 19037. [Class 138(ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A container 10 for wet laundry and like articles is provided with a removable partition unit 15 which is arranged to divide the articles into entirely separate and detached groups during loading and is removed after loading to permit the action of a single press head to extract moisture simultaneously from the several groups. The container 10 may be constructed as described in Specification 617,616 with a removable and perforated bottom plate 14 and casters 11. As shown, the partition unit 15 is of cross-shape in plan, being formed of a main plate 15 and two crossplates 15a, 15b welded thereto. After loading of the container, the unit 15 is removed by means of handles 16, and the container is then wheeled into a wringer of the press type as described in Specification 617,615. A ram in the wringer moves vertically so as to lift the bottom plate 14 and wet articles, the latter being compressed against a top-plate.
