617,372. Electromagnetic relays. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Sept. 27, 1946, No. 28909. Convention date, April 21, 1943. [Class 38 (v)] A multiple-spring contact relay having two side-by-side banks of contacts, has a ladder-like actuating-member having a central metal rod 3 secured in an insulating part 4 of a cross-arm 5. Distance pieces 18 and a number of insulating transverse arms 12 are placed on the rod 3. Movable contact springs, as 13, 14, bear on the arms 12 and on frangible projections 10, 11 of the arm 5, a complete assembly being shown in Fig. 2. The projections 6, 7 on the arm 5 engage in recesses 8, 9 in the armature of the relay. Rocking movement of the actuating- member, as indicated by arrows.P, is prevented by fixing the top cross-arm to the top contact springs. The apertures in the transverse arms may have projections 33, 34 so as to support the arm on the rod 3 in spaced relation at 35, 36 with the arm along the axis of the latter, thereby increasing the leakage path.
