Abstract

615,536. Frequency modulation; automatic tuning correction. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Oct. 27, 1945, No. 28436. Convention date, Oct. 27,1944. [Class 40 (v)] In a frequency discriminator a resistor R1 and capacitor C1 are connected across the input to act as a low-pass filter, resistor R2 and capacitor C2 serving as a high-pass filter, the filters having a desired cross-over frequency. The outputs of the filters feed over diodes 3, 4, load resistors 7, 10 to produce an A.F.C. voltage for a superheterodyne receiver or the circuit may be employed as a detector in a receiver for angle modulated waves. The reactance of the capacitors is chosen equal to the resistance of the resistors at the cross-over frequency.
