Abstract
614,891. Shelves and the like. ORME, F. R. Aug. 12, 1946, No. 23846. [Class 52 (i)] A shelf fitting for storage and display purposes comprises end and, if desired, dividing walls of open mesh material and one or more shelves secured in position by means passed through the meshes of the walls. As shown the fitting consists of end walls 10 and intermediate dividing walls 23, the end walls 10 being welded to angle section uprights 11 having upper and lower brackets 12 which are bolted to a base frame 14 and to a tray-shaped cover 15 while the walls 23 are welded to T-section uprights. If the adjacent shelves 25 are in alignment they are secured in position by bolts passing through the mesh walls and also holes 28 in the flanges 27 of the shelves. Strips 29 are provided for shelves having no adjacent aligned shelves the strips 29 being disposed on the opposite side of the mesh and secured by bolts passing through the mesh and also through the holes in the strip 29 and in the shelf flanges 27. An open mesh backing may be provided by clipping it to the rear uprights 11.
