Abstract

614,881. Supports for curtain rods ; brackets. LYNN, P. J. Aug. 10, 1946, No. 23733. [Class 52 (v)] A support for a curtain rod comprises a portion fixable to a wall, &c., and a movable portion for carrying the rod, the two portions having interengaging corrugations and one portion being adapted resiliently to embrace the other to prevent movement perpendicular to the general plane of the corrugated surface. The fixable portion is formed from a substantially rectangular strip of sheet material bent to form two limbs, one limb a of which is formed with corrugations b, the other limb c containing screw holes d. The movable portion, also formed of sheet material, has one end folded on itself at e to provide a clip, the two parts f, g of which are corrugated to grip the part a of the fixable portion, the remainder of the movable portion being bent at right angles to the parts f, g, and bent to form a tubular socket j to receive a curtain rod k. In a modification (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) the movable portion has a spigot fitting into a tubular curtain rod, instead of the socket j.
