Abstract

Allyl derivatives of 1 : 3 : 5-trimethylene trisulphone are obtained by reacting in liquid medium, e.g. aqueous alcoholic medium an allyl or b -substituted allyl halide with a 1 : 3 : 5-trimethylene trisulphone in the presence of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide or carbonate, the b -substituent of said allyl halide being such as will not react with the methylene groups of said trimethylene trisulphone. A detailed example is given.
