Abstract

613,959. Electric heating resistances. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. May 9, 1946, No. 14033. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1941. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Electric heating resistances are manufactured from a composite body consisting of a tubular conductor surrounding one or more further conductors, the conductors being separated by powdered insulating material which is introduced into the workpiece in a dried and degasified state and in vacuo, the workpiece then being swaped until an elongation of about 5 per cent has occurred, which compacts the powder, and finally drawn to the required dimensions. The internal conductor may be initially in the form of a helix, and the final body may be twisted into any desired shape.
