Abstract

Hydrocarbons are aromatized or hydroformed by contact at elevated temperatures with the catalysts of the parent Specification comprising a zinc aluminate support and molybdenum and/or chromium oxides. Paraffinic feeds, e.g. heptane, are preferably aromatized at about 1000 DEG F., 1 atmos., and a feed rate of 1.2 vols./vol./hr. Naphthenic naphthas of gasoline range are aromatized or hydroformed at 900-1000 DEG F., 1 atmos.-200 p.s.i., and a feed rate of .25-1.2 vols./vol./hr. Operation details are largely a repetition of those described in the parent Specification.
