[Class 88 (ii)] In an electrical musical instrument in which tone generators are brought into operation selectively by stops and keys, key click is prevented by connecting a low-pass filter in each key circuit controlling a generator and a high-pass filter in the output circuit. The low-pass filter reduces key noise to a lowfrequency thud which cannot pass the highpass filter. To carry out the invention effectively, the scale is divided into groups of frequencies and the high-pass filter for each group suppresses frequencies below that of the lowest note in the group. It is possible in the lowest frequency group to make the low-pass filter only pass subaudio frequencies and to dispense with the high-pass filter. This gives a sluggish attack but is not a disadvantage on low notes. Specifications 403,444, 433,050 and 613,414 are referred to.
