Abstract
613,038. Hanging pictures, &c. NEMEC, F. Oct. 23, 1945. No. 27939. Convention date, April 22, 1939. [Classes 52 (iv) and 52 (v)] [Also in Group XXV] Bolts for detachably connecting objects, for example for attaching a picture frame 1, Fig. 1, to a wall or other vertical surface 2 have grooves with surfaces 4, 5 inclined at 45 degrees to the arms of the bolt and of depth corresponding to the wall thickness. The bolt is inserted in the frame 1 at an angle of 45 degrees as shown in the Figure and the frame is tilted to bring the bolt into a horizontal position for insertion into a hole 7. On swinging the frame to its proper position the surfaces 4, 5 engage the wall as shown and the frame is secure. The grooves preferably merge into one another with a rounded surface 3 and a series of such surfaces may be provided. If the surface 2 be of considerable thickness a metal ring is secured over a recess therein. The device is stated to be suitable for use in assembling parts of buildings, furniture and machines, for suspending objects generally, and for a rotatable hanging bolt or hook. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a construction for use when it is required to connect the parts adjustably in which the bolt is provided with a number of grooves 4, Fig. 3 (Cancelled) for engagement by a ring 9 secured to the other of the parts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
