610,786. Steam turbines. CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE. April 16, 1946, No. 11702. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1943. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110 (iii)] Low-pressure steam turbines, operating in the temperature drop between the surface and deep waters in tropical seas, have several tiers of blades each tier receiving steam from one of an equal number of evaporators and exhausting to one of an equal number of condensers. A single evaporator may supply steam to all the tiers of blades which exhaust to separate condensers. The turbine blades may be of different axial extent at the several tiers or a similar result may be obtained by a continuous variation.
