Abstract
610,706. Automatic control. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. March 30, 1944, No. 5933. Convention date, July 30, 1942. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Groups XL (b) and XL (c)] Frequency.-In a television synchronizing-signal generator (see Group XL (b)) comprising a master oscillator 75 generating a frequency of 31,500 c.p.s. and connected through frequencydividers 105, 107, 109, 171, the last-named producing the field frequency of 60 c.p.s., this latter frequency (of saw-tooth form) is supplied to the first grid of valve 190 and 60 c.p.s. current from the mains is applied to the second grid which is negatively-biassed so that the valve will only pass current on the peaks. A direct current output is obtained proportional to the phase displacement of the peaks of the two supplies and is fed back over lead 220 to the junction of resistors 83, 85 in the frequencydetermining circuit of the master oscillator 75 to maintain the frequency constant.
