Abstract
610,310. Ablution cabinets. THOMAS, C. W. I. June 28, 1944, No. 12302. [Class 26] An ablution cabinet comprises a casing 1 to stand on a floor and provided with hinged doors 4, an intermediate hinged panel 3 carrying a wash basin 7 on its inside, and a lower part 2 in the form of a tray which is pivotally mounted at the lower end of the cabinet by trunnions 11 engaging in vertical slots 12 in the sides of the cabinet so that, when the tray is in use, the weight of the bather is taken by the floor. A shower fitting 5 comprising a pair of perforated pipes is pivotally mounted within the upper part of the cabinet and supplied by hot and cold water taps 6 controlled by pivoted levers adjacent the bather's hands. The perforations may direct the water over the shoulders of the bather without wetting his head. The basin 7 empties into a reservoir 15, whilst one or both of the trunnions 11 are hollow and rotatably connected by a pipe section 13 and flexible pipe 14 to a waste pipe. Screwed feet may be provided to vary the angle of the tray 2. Compartments 8 are provided on each side of the upper part of the cabinet in which are pivotally mounted arms 9 carrying curtains 10. Alternatively, roller blinds may be carried by lazy-tongs devices.
