Abstract
608,791. Drying grain discharging devices. BOBY, Ltd., R., and WESSON, J. P. Feb. 28, 1946, No. 6315. [Class 34(ii)] [Also in Group XXX] A kiln for drying grain 2 on a perforated tiled floor 1 is provided with discharging means comprising a travelling scoop 4 which may be lowered to a position 4B where it engages a layer of dried grain and pushes it towards a discharge opening 42 leading to a discharge duct 43. Curved plates 40, 41, may be fitted to the corners of the kiln and a turning device 3 may be employed which is stowed in position 3A during the discharging operation. The edge of the scoop may have a rubber edge 51 and a brush 50 may be incorporated to sweep the floor of the kiln in the final movement of the discharging device. The travelling structure 5 is provided with an electric motor and electrically actuated clutches for controlling the movement of the scoop.
