Abstract
608,245. Electric indicating systems. LIQUIDOMETER CORPORATION. Dec. 4, 1945, No. 32714. Convention date, April 3. [Class 40 (i)] A system for adding several indications comprises a plurality of transmitters I, II, III, Fig. 4, each including an endless resistance, e.g. 35, having two sets of taps, e.g. 38, 45, one set, 38, being displaceable by one of the indicators 42 and connected to taps 36 on the succeeding transmitter, the other set, 45, being connected to taps 47 on the preceding transmitter, the output from the last transmitter being applied to a receiver D. The invention is particularly applied to summing the indications of fluid level indicators 50, 41, 33. Various types of transmitter are disclosed: three fixed output tappings with two diametral movable tappings, Figs. 1, 3a (not shown); three fixed output tappings with one movable tapping connected by resistances with the fixed output taps, Fig. 2 (not shown); four output tappings for controlling the current through two coils at the receiver, Fig. 3a (not shown); and three output tappings connected delta-fashion, Fig. 3b (not shown). The receiver may actuate a liquid valve.
