Abstract

607,922. Lighting fittings. ERALITE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and WRAY, E. J. March 28, 1946, No. 9626. [Classes 75(ii), 75(iii) and 75(iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] A lighting fitting comprises a tapered transparent body moulded, bent or formed to a C-shape and having its external surface highly polished to confine light rays within its body, the exit end being formed so as to allow light to emerge. The fitting shown comprises a C-shaped block 1 of solid glass, plastic or other transparent material with an outwardly flared end 6, this block 1 being mounted on a lamp containing support 3, Fig. 1, to form a table lamp, or mounted on a member 10, Fig. 4, adapted to be attached to a wall or to a pendant or to the back of a bed 12 by means of a clip 11. The light from the lamp 16, Fig. 6, may enter the end of the block 1 directly or through the side 14, 'as shown, in which case the end 15 is polished to reflect the light through the block, and the exit end may be of lenticular formation, faceted, given a matt finish by sandblasting, or be partly polished and partly matt so as to give any desired illuminated design or pattern.
