Abstract
606,987. Composite boards. THORVALDSEN, T. Jan. 22, 1946, No. 2162. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1940. [Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A composite board is formed from a number of boards 1 arranged edge to edge and held together by reinforcing steel bars 3 located in aligned transverse bores 2 in the boards, the end portions of each bar in the outermost boards being bent to an undulating shape 4 to grip the boards. The bending may be performed by blade members 5 which are introduced below and above the bar in spaced relationship as shown and moved into contact with the bar and then further in the same direction. The bars may also be deformed in the intermediate boards and the extreme ends bent over at the same time as the undulations are formed. After construction, the composite board, if required, may be bent to curved shape about an axis parallel to the length of the separate boards.
