[Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXX] A method of making pallets for handling loads comprises forming a deck unit and a base unit, bending portions of the base unit in a vertical direction to form legs at points spaced longitudinally and transversely of the unit, and connecting the legs to the deck unit. In the embodiments shown, the deck unit is formed of wires 11, 12 welded together and reinforced by rods 13, 14, and the base unit comprising welded rods 16, 18, Fig. 2, is divided by cutting away portions a to form two separate parts each of which has portions bent-up to form legs and brace members 19, the upper ends of which are welded to the deck unit. Plates 21 welded to the rods 18 provide additional supporting surfaces.
