[Class 107] In a concrete distributer comprising a portable base C, a concrete mixing drum A mounted thereon, a materials discharge device G, a boom and tandem buckets distributor unit, and a rotary distributor 9 intermediate the discharge device and said buckets, means are provided to move the buckets 21, 22 separately outwardly, along the boom 24, 25, and together inwardly by engagement of the outer with the inner bucket after discharge. Rotation of the mixing drum A drives the shaft 8 and distributor 9 via gears B, 1 shaft 2, sprockets 6, 7 and bevelled gears 7b, 7c; simultaneously, through gears 8a, 8b, shaft 8c, sprockets 10, 11, and bevelled gear 12, the gears 13, 14 are rotated in opposite directions. Material from the drum A is led via the chute G to the rotary distributor 9 and thence to the buckets 21, 22. Movement of the lever 67 to the lower "out" position causes the counter clockwise motion of the gear 13 to be transmitted to the shaft 16 and drums 17, 18 via the arm 69, shaft 71, arm 74, sleeve 75, lever 76 and clutch 15a; the cable 40 attached to the arm 42 thus pulls the outer bucket 21 outwardly along the boom 25, where it is discharged on reversing the motion of the shaft 16 by moving the lever 67 to the " in " position momentarily. This releases the clutch 15a and causes the clutch 20a via the arm 70, sleeves 72, 75 and lever 77 to engage the shaft t 16 with the sleeve 19 on which is mounted the gear 14. The bracket arm 42 now pulls inwardly on the levers 45, 46 causing the latter to engage the arm 47, which through the agency of the rod 50 opens the base 21a of the bucket. The lever 67 is then moved through neutral to the upper " out " position, causing the clutch 23a to engage the drum 23 on which is wound the cable 37 which, attached to the inner bucket 22, pulls it outwardly along the boom. When adjacent the bucket 21, its arm 32 on striking the member 33 is swung over to open its discharge door 22a and at the same time to contact the lever 34 which raises the bar 35 to tilt the bracket 27, so rocking the shaft 26 (see Fig. 8, not shown) and actuating the levers 30, 31 to throw out the clutch 23a and stop the bucket. Finally, moving the level 67 into the " in " position throws the clutch 20a into engagement again to return the bucket 21 pushing the bucket 22 before it. The boom part 25 is hinged at I to the inner part 24 and may be raised by the cable 55 which passes to the drum 59 driven through the gears 5 and shaft 60. The latter can also be used, via gear 61, worm 63 and swing bracket 65, to rotate the whole boom about the shaft 8 as axis in the horizontal plane; whilst the mounting of the boom bracket 80 on pivot pins at 80a, 80b allows of tilting to the horizontal.
