Abstract

Fermentation of liquids such as milk, buttermilk, whey, blood, serum and urine is prevented or arrested by the addition of trichloronitromethane in quantities of up to 10g. per 1001. of liquid. Milk so preserved is boiled before use to decompose and volatilise the trichloronitromethane.
