Abstract

602,529. Fanlight &c. operating means. HALIFAX, R. C. Oct, 16. 1945, No. 27033, [Class 20 (iii)] Ventilator operating gear for glass houses &c., of the kind in which a number of lights are simultaneously moved by a common operating barrel 19, comprises a thrust member 6 having a means to maintain it in a plane perpendicular to the hinging axis of the light, and cables 13, 14 connected each to one of its ends and to the barrel. As shown, a plate 5 is secured to the fixed frame 4 and carries cable pulleys 11 and 12 and guide pulleys 7 and 8. The thrust member 6 is pivoted to the light 3 and guided between the pulleys 7 and 8 which are axially movable on their pivot pins. The cables 13, 14 are attached to the operating barrel 19 by clips 18, 17 respectively, so that longitudinal movement of the barrel moves the thrust member 6 to open or close the lights. A segment rigidly secured to the light may be substituted for the pivoted thrust rod 6.
