601,765. Door latches. TRUNINGER, A. Oct. 11, 1945, No. 26559. [Class 44] In a door latch having a square section handle spindle made in two parts relatively slidable to provide adjustment, a follower consisting of two parts drawn together by a screw is used to clamp the two parts of the spindle together. The parts 13, 14 of the spindle, secured respectively to the handles 15, 16 are over most of their length of triangular section, overlapped to form a square section, with the edges of the diagonal chamfered so as to form grooves at opposite corners of the square, the chamfered edges being also serrated. The follower consists of two interfitting parts 1, 2, drawn together by means of a screw 9, and forming a square opening provided with internally projecting wedges 11, 12 which fit into the grooves in the spindle. A hole 22 in the latch casing allows the screw 9 to be tightened after the latch is fitted.
