Abstract
601,220. Condensers. COURSEY, P. R., DUBILIER CONDENSER CO. (1925), Ltd., and STEATITE & PORCELAIN PRODUCTS, Ltd. Sept. 21, 1944, No. 18022. [Class 37] A condenser system as described in Specification 601,109 wherein the di-electrics are of the kind described in Specification 574,577, comprises tubular di-electrics 1, 2 of differing permittivity/temperature characteristics assembled end to end with internal electrodes 3, 4, seriesconnected by soldering, in the example, on to a conducting member 7, and external electrodes 5, 6 with lead-out wires 11, 12 from end caps 9, 10 connected thereto. The condensers may be cup-shaped by forming the di-electrics 1, 2 and electrodes 3, 4, 5, 6 with closed outer ends and the whole encased in a material, such as varnish or glaze, impervious to water. If required, a plurality of such series-connected condensers may be connected in parallel.
