[Class 135] [Also in Groups XX and XXXV] Opening of a valve 25 controlling the precession of a gyroscope (see Group XX) takes place when the turn control knob 11 of an automatic pilot is moved but is delayed by the liquid dash-pot 16. The valve actuating rod 24 is connected to the piston 19 and the latter is urged downwards by the spring 18 when the plunger 14 is depressed by the cam surface 13 fixed to the knob 11. The piston 19 is provided with one-way flaps 22 so that the valve 25 is closed, immediately the knob 11 returns to the zero position, by the engagement of the flange 20 with the piston.
