Abstract

599,107. Swath turners. DICKIE, J. Sept. 13, 1945, No. 23649. [Class 6 (iii)] A pair of similar swath turner tines a with downwardly curved ends are combined with a clamping device for attachment to a tine pinion spindle in such a manner that said tines are held splayed apart and their downwardly turned ends are turned slightly away from each other. Each tine at its rear end is formed with an eye or head which fits into a recess in the clamping means, said means comprising two plates which engage with the tine pinion spindle d at the rear, and at the front hold each tine between circular channels formed from semicircular channels in the upper and lower clamping plates, which are bolted together at i and j. The recess in the clamping means is formed by a semi-circular recess in each of the clamping plates, that of the upper plate being narrower than that of the lower, whereby when the plates are clamped together, the tines will be turned away from each other.
