Abstract

595,413. Bee-feeding appliances. JAMES, L. Dec. 22, 1944, No. 25719. [Class 5 (ii)] A hole or holes 11, small enough to prevent access of more than one bee at a time to the syrup in the container 1, is provided in a float 9. A central passage 3, lined with perforated zinc 4, leads to an assembly plate 2 overlying the container. A plate 13 with two holes 14 covers the float-containing tube 7. The righthand tube 17 may be a duplicate of that on the left, but is preferably retained for rapid feeding. When not in use, it is covered with a closed plate. In a modification, the feeding passages may consist of tubes of perforated zinc or the like of a size admitting one bee only.
