Abstract

An alloy suitable for use as an electrode or electrode tip for a sparking-plug is composed of .05 to 3 per cent thorium, .5 to 10 per cent molybdenum and the balance platinum. One specific composition is: .5 per cent thorium, 4 per cent molybdenum, 95.5 per cent platinum.
