Abstract

Polyvinyl acetal resins are plasticized with tri-(b -chlor-ethyl) phosphate. Acetals specified are those obtained from formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and butyraldehyde. The plasticizer may be added at any time during the preparation of products such as films and varnishes, diluted if required with a solvent such as ethanol, or the acetal resin may be dissolved in an ethanol/benzene mixture. Other plasticizers, dyes and pigments may be added. Specification 552,258 is referred to.
