Abstract

594,612. Follow-up control systems. BURT, E. G. C. June 2, 1945, No. 13926. [Class 40 (i)] In a circuit for deriving an A.C. voltage varying in amplitude and phase in accordance with the valve and sense of the difference between two D.C. potentials, two rectifiers are connected in series with a centre-tapped resistor across a centre-tapped supply transformer. The two D.C. potentials being applied to the terminals 14 and 15 so that on the halfcycles when the rectifiers are conducting, current will flow through resistor 13 giving rise to a polarized A.C. potential in resistor 13, the A.C. component of which is taken off through blocking capacitor 18. Any higher frequencies present are byepassed by capacitor 16. A centre-tapped resistor may be used to dispense with the transformer centre tap. The rectifiers may be crystals or diodes. The circuit may be used in a system for controlling D.C. motors.
