Abstract
594,406. Electric resonators. PHILLIPS,R. B., and WHIGHT, C. S. Sept. 13, 1944, No. 17543. [Class 40 (iii)] A short-circuiting plug for terminating or tuning a coaxial line comprises an outer tube 1 and inner tube 2, having spring fingers 3, these tubes fitting respectively inside and outside the corresponding line conductors. Flanges 4, 5 form a short-circuiting condenser, a mica disc 6 serving as dielectric and for maintaining coaxial alignment. The capacity may be increased to a desired value by adding alternate discs 7, 8, which fit tightly upon the outer and inner tubes respectively and are insulated from one another. They are held in position by a washer 11 and end block 10. Direct-current leads may pass through the inner tube 2.
